Blog Post-Publishing Checklist

So you spent hours if not days writing and formatting your new blog post. Superb!

You hit the ‘Publish’ button to make it live.

Then it strikes you. What next?

Do you just sit and wait?

Do you wait in hopes that people will find your new blog post?

There’s more to blogging than just being able to create content. Once you have a post up, you need to promote it, but how?

Many Internet marketers tell you how to create content but they don’t give you the necessary steps on what to do after.

The good news is, I developed a checklist you can simply follow. It’s called the Blog Post-Publishing Checklist.

This checklist in particular will give you a list of action steps to take once you hit the Publish button so you can start getting visitors to your post and attract likes, shares, comments and free word of mouth marketing.

So you’ve published your blog post, now what? Follow the action steps below to spread the news. You may or may not want to do all of them. It’s up to you.

Here it is:

Social sharing can easily be done using a WordPress plug-in called Twitter Facebook Social Share. You can see an example of the share buttons at the top and bottom of any of my posts on this site.

  1. I’m sure most of us already do a few of these things but it’s great to have a checklist of a lot more. For WordPress users, how big is your ‘ping list’? Is it just the default 5 (or whatever the current default ping list is) or have you found some more? Mine is around 20 although it used to be bigger (50+). Strikes a good balance between letting people know and hogging server resources (something I got warnings about a few years ago).

    Thank you once again,
    Regards,

  2. You nailed this paragraph, “There’s more to blogging than just being able to create content. Once you have a post up, you need to promote it, but how?”
I know for a fact that this something that I struggle with every time I post new content. Maybe that’s why I’m not getting the response I was expecting? Hopefully this will help!

    Thanks again,
    Mike
